We are INCREDIBLY disappointed and disgusted with maxis as a 3G mobile service provider. The situation is this: we were told by a maxis customer “care” (not sure about them caring at all!) consultant that our 3G service for our mobile data is unlimited. Looks like unlimited came with an unspoken clause at the time of our conversation via the telephone, because when we got our bill this month, we were given a slap across our faces. We were billed the normal RM88, and on top of that, another RM250 for OVERUSING our 3GB limit. Every kilobyte used after the 3gigabytes were chargeable!

This is daylight robbery! Furthermore, NONE of the Maxis customer “care” consultants could tell us of our current usage when we called to enquire on how can we track our usage. How would anyone use their data on their mobile phone without fear if they were to wonder about having an overcharge on their account amounting up to RM250? If anyone in their right mind would pay RM88 + RM250 = RM338 for a simple internet service, please, come see me. Even the maxis customer “care” consultants themselves admitted not wanting to pay that amount of money for mere internet. They were using other service providers, instead. Imagine your staff using other service providers because YOU were not good enough.

We made numerous calls to maxis to get a waiver of the RM250 on the basis that we were given a FALSE promise of our data usage being unlimited. It is utterly disgusting the way maxis has been cheating the daylights out of citizens. This is NOT the first time maxis has charged my family and I for services that we never signed up for. We have called the maxis call-centre numerous times. It is high-time that maxis bucked up its ethics and integrity. Telling white lies is NEVER the way to go forward.

We are still wanting them to get their act together. We just sent off an email to MCMC, hopefully it will work.

I don't like broadband in Malaysia. Most of them are very slow. Take Streamyx for example, it had been slowdown for months due to underwater cable issue.

BTW, glad to hear you settle your case. :)

The telco that underpromise and overdeliver will win. Most people are
too busy to read the fineprint.
