Yes, it’s confirmed and official now- the price of petrol will be RM 2.70 per litre tomorrow.

The new price of petrol is RM2.70 per litre beginning midnight tonight, it was announced a moment ago by Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs Minister Datuk Shahrir Samad. Diesel will go up by RM1 per litre while the price for ULG 92 per litre went up by 74 sen. The 78 sen hike or 40 per cent increase for the ULG 97 petrol is still below the antiticpated RM4 per litre price projected earlier and among the cheapest in Asia. – NST

Also, there will be rebates for owners of cars with a capacity below 2000 cc.

MALAYSIA will raise pump prices of petrol by about 41 per cent, or 78 sen, to RM2.70 (84 US cents) a litre, Prime Minister Abdullah Datuk Seri Ahmad Badawi said today.

He also said diesel prices will be raised to RM2.50 a litre.

The pump price is now at RM1.92 (60 US cents), among the cheapest in Asia.

Domestic Trade Minister Datuk Shahrir Samad said today cash rebates will be given to owners of cars with a capacity below 2000 cc.

He said the new price of RM2.70 did not reflect the full market value, which could be as high as RM3.00-RM4.00 when the price controls are completely removed in August.

Meanwhile, the prime minister announced that Tenaga Nasional Bhd will raise electricity prices starting July to make up for a reduction in fuel subsidies.- Business Times

    NOT the cheapest yet.

In Asia there is still brunei with only BND 0.53 equivalent to around RM 1.22 for petrol and BND 0.29 equivalent to around RM 0.67 for diesel. Is it, that our dear prime minister look down on the existent of brunei as a country. Or he don't even take brunei as a country in asia

"We want to pay the subsidy directly to those who deserve them. We do not want foreigners to benefit from our subsidy," Shahrir said.

this sentence is showing how irresponsible our leaders are. We can enforce control and law to control foreign car to pump from our local station but they didn't even control. as for brunei they do control. This means our leader are not only irresponsible but also stupid giving stupid excuses to fool us citizen. Taking granted that we can't do anything
  • I love it when oil prices goes up, I love it when US dollar goes up. Any one or both of these goes up I make more money. That's the different between those who take action and those who just know how to "merungut".

BTW, I don't even have a car or need to use a car, I don't even need to use / buy my own transportation. Higher fuel pricess does not borther me, as far at the aftermath efect (higher food prices etc) I always have more +ve cashflow, it does not even give a dent on my finances.

Poor = buy / own liabilities
Rich = buy / own assets

Liabilities = Take Money out of your pocket
Assets = Received Money into your pocket

I don't have any liabilities, I only have assets, so, as long as you all dumbass buy / own liabilities (such as your car), you are not just poor , you guys always going to be a looooserrrr.

    Ciao
