Objective :
The morning session will familiarize participants with what is happening currently in the real estate scene in Malaysia with the recent launches of Iskandar Development Region, Northern Corridor Economic Region. The reasons behind the Economic Regions would be looked into.
Databases showing who are the existing owners and developers will be revealed. What are the existing land use and the land use patterns and constraints that exist in the Economic Regions. A comparative approach will be taken by comparing the IDR and NCER with the Klang Valley (also known as Kuala Lumpur Conurbation).
A Quick introduction to Principles of Real Estate Valuation, Real Estate Cycles, Global Megacities’ Trends, Locational Centre of Gravity, New Real Estate Mantra of “Location, Timing & Branding”, Demographics and Property Price Index will be included.
The afternoon session is designed to provide an insight to the regulatory environment on all legal aspects of property investments in Malaysia and the various initiatives to promote and enhance Malaysian property investment. It will analyze the characteristics of the property investment scene in Malaysia and clarify the recent announcement in relation to the Government of Malaysia’s collaboration with the private property sector to boost foreign and local property investment. The Iskandar Development Region (IDR), special economic zone as well as the other development plans such as the East Coast Economic Region (ECER) and the North Coast Economic Region (NCER) will also be explained in detail. There shall be a focus on Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs) as a viable investment instrument.
