My first cheque arrived from Amphitheater Parkway. It took them about 20 days to sent the cheque to my mailbox. It was then banked in via Maybank. And for the cheque to clear, it took another 20 odd days. Well, I wasn’t waiting for the money to buy food, so I guess it’s still alright.
Total duration for the payment to turn into real cash: Almost 50 days.
My second cheque was virtually sent via Western Union (WU). I had to set my Ad-Sense account to receive the pay out via Western Union.
The only authorized WU branches in Malaysia are RHB banks and “original” CIMB Banks. Why original? That’s because CIMB branches which is previously converted from Southern Banks do not handle Western Union transactions. Don’t ask me why :-P
Next, I drop by in one of the CIMB Bank and filled up a simple form over the counter. After that, I was to give them my NRIC and right thumb print for verification purpose. Next, I am sent to another department to proceed with the cash-out. I then proceed to give them the “Statement of Earnings” that I have printed from my Google AdSense account. This is important, as it contains the 10-digit transaction id to verify the withdrawal. The cash-out process took less than 10 minutes as I was then given my “proceeds” in real cash…the actual “ka-ching” moment.
It took me about 25 minutes for the whole process, and it has been handled very professionally by the staff at CIMB.
Total duration for the payment to turn into real cash: About 3 days.
So, if you haven’t set your AdSense account to receive payout via Western Union, you should give it a try. My experience has been very pleasant and hassle-free.
