Forms

Forms…and I deal with lots of them everyday.

While filling up forms, these thoughts often cross my mind:

1) Why are companies that has billions of ringgit in assets still using paper forms as their primary method of soliciting businesses?

2) When there’s a change of policies from the top, these forms are discarded immediately. I cannot imagine the amount of wasted papers and inks every year. These expenses are of course, passed on to the customers.

3) Some forms really ask stupid questions, such as date of births, when they already asked for the new IC. Maybe form designers don’t realize what the first 6-digits of the new Malaysian IC stands for. And of course not to mention, IC ending with odd number is Male. And when they ask for “Sex”, you should put in 3 times a week.

4) Some forms can ask for the same exact information in every single page… @#$^!&*

5) Form designers are usually high on drugs when they are working.

Okie, I will add more later, as I need to finish filling up the remaining dotted lines and blanks.

Later ;-)

  • Because of this forms-filling phenomenon, it creates another profession called personal assistant. or clerk, or administrator who can help you with the forms.
  • KC, I am not so much troubled with the amount of work. Rather, my beef is about the waste and inefficiency of the current situation (which was designed before the usage computers and internet became commonplace) and the thoughts (or lack of it) that is invested in making life easier for the "human" that is going to fill up these forms.
