Getting good 2nd hand cars are always better than having new cars. You save money and also you will have a wide option to put mods and style your car.

The thing about 2nd hand cars is the loan interest rate is higher than new cars. The older, the more expensive. Also the uncertainty that it may incur repair costs.

However, for new cars, mostly are overpriced.

Hey Vid,

Thanks for the compliment, hopefully this wacky guide gives car buyers a rough idea on the pre-owned vehicle market.

Korean cars usually comes with the "non-resale-value" feature (sarcasm intended). Go for continental makes (Beemers, Benzs, Alpha Romeos, Peugeots) if you want the highest price depreciation while still getting a pretty good condition car.

The price to pay for the smell of a new leather and almost zero mileage benefit is still too high, in my opinion ;-)

This is one very good guide, bro. I am proud to say I read the whole thing and laughed at (5). But the rest of the tip is really worth bookmarking. I think it's feasible to get a second-hand vehicle too. Especially since we always come across new cars being over-priced, and have no re-sale value, etc etc. Then why not we buy the 'no-resale-value' cars then? Would that be a good deal, considering the price has dropped so much? But of course we have to put up with the fact that the car isn't new, and has a previous owner... but if we can overcome this fact, I think buying a second-hand car is not really a bad idea after all.

Lol! Leona, thanks for pointing that out, I actually have a friend who bought a "problematic car" from his relative...

Yeah, buying a new car or second-hand car is a personal decision, and I am glad your purchase worked out fine. I have seen friends whose new "national" cars gave them more problem than their mother-in-laws! He he...

I did consider getting a 2nd hand car before, but unless you're buying from someone you actually know, it's really quite hard not to be cheated. I'm glad I ended up buying a new problem free car, but I saw another friend forking up to RM5000 repairing his 'new' 2nd hand car that became really problematic after a month or so...
