Maybe the Government should start controlling Nestle products, since they are easily one of the most purchased products in every Malaysian households.
So, it’s a good thing to really look at inflation rate as a personal figure, rather than using the published rate as a benchmark. A farmer who is living comfortably in his own self-constructed house in the rural kampung area, rearing his own chickens and growing his own vegetables definitely has a lower inflation index than an executive who’s working in Jalan Ampang, eating most of his meals out of the house, paying a rental that increases every 2 years and driving through “inflated” toll plazas everyday to work.
Its president, S.M. Mohamed Idris, said these included condensed milk, milk powder, sardines, Milo and groundnuts ??with prices going up between 8% and 44%.
Nestle’s Teh Tarik showed the biggest price increase, with a can currently costing RM2.60, compared to RM1.80 just four months ago.
Marigold condensed creamer and Ayam brand sardines prices have also increased by 33% in the same period, from RM1.80 previously to RM2.40.
Milo and groundnut prices have also increased by 30%, while milk powder showed an 8% increase.
