ASW 2020 to Launch New Units

Okie people, time to get your camping gears ready again!

Another 2 billion units will be launched by PNB this coming 12th September, and each investors are capped at 20,000 units per investment.

There’s also a special 60 million units allocation for the disabled. Very thoughtful of them.

This fund has a 51:49 bumiputra to non-bumiputra ratio.

Permodalan Nasional Bhd’s unit Amanah Saham Nasional Bhd will make available 2.06 billion new units of Amanah Saham Wawasan 2020 (ASW 2020) for the public to subscribe by Sept 12.

PNB president and chief executive officer Tan Sri Hamad Kama Piah said the offer would commence concurrently at all ASNB offices and 1,400 agents’ outlets nationwide by 9.30am.

“To ensure a fair distribution to the investing public, a maximum limit of 20,000 units has been set per account holder during the offer period from Sept 12 to 25,’’he said.

Of the new offer, 60 million units have been allocated to the disabled to provide them with a hassle-free transaction.

  • Hi Yow Chuan, do you own any of the PNB's fund? I am just curious because you sell unit trust.
I have some ASW 2020 unit, which was bought when I was still studying in secondary school. But now, I am too lazy to join the long queue.

I queued up too, but didn't manged to buy any. Haha...

    Hi Neo,

I've hearing all these news on Amanah Saham Fund but unavailable to obtain the information of the performance. But i know that the distributions is around 7% on a yearly basis for ASW 2020. Besides the distributions, do you have any idea on the capital gain for ASW 2020? Is't worth the longgggggggg queuing? I understand that the returns for most of the Public Unit Trust fund are around 10%.
  • Hi KC, the amount of ASW 2020 I have (since secondary school days) is microscopic! At that time, I don't even know what it's for. I remember queuing up with other students at the bank (can't even remember which bank now...) with other students and their parents.

Liam, for your info, one of the unique feature about ASW 2020 is that it's totally risk free because it's price is fixed at RM 1.00 (which also means that there's no potential capital gain).

Hmm...that might explain why they are the favorites investment tools amongst Uncles and Aunties.

but heard my uncle said it's been finished the next day.
  • Not bad, the whole thing is like a lucky draw. Well, scarcity is value, or so it seems.
