Not to be mistaken with PNB’s Amanah Saham series of funds, Amanah Mutual Berhad is Mayban’s unit trust investment arms, which is also formerly known as Mayban Unit Trust Berhad.
What I really don’t like is when companies start using names that are very similar to another competitive product. This is not only confusing to the investors but also can potentially misled investors to make the wrong decision.
I understand that the term “Amanah”, defined as “Trust” in English is a very generic word in the unit trust industry, but shouldn’t a big company put more thoughts into coming up with a better brand name?
AMANAH Mutual Bhd (AMB) has announced an annual gross income distribution of 3.5 sen per unit for its AMB Value Trust Fund for the financial year ended August 31, 2007.
The total income distribution amounted to about RM0.63 million, the company said in a statement.
AMB also announced an annual gross income distribution of 3.50 sen per unit for its AMB Ethical Trust Fund for financial year ended August 31, 2007.
The total income distribution will involve payments of about RM1.02 million, it said.
