Took about 13 years to double the money.
It’s a blunt way to look at it though, since each individual investor might enter and exit at a different point of time. So it’s not really a good idea to rate a fund based on past performances. Rather, it’s more of what you do during the investment period that matters.
Amanah Saham Sarawak Bhd (Assar) will pay out a net distribution of 5 sen per unit this year, involving a total cash distribution of RM25.9mil.
It will be paid in two stages, beginning with an interim cash distribution of 3 sen per unit followed by the final 2 sen later.
Sarawak Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud, who made the announcement at his office here on Monday, said this year’s distribution represented a 25% increase from the 4 sen per unit paid to unitholders in 2006.
He said unitholders who have retained their investment in Assar since 1993 would have recouped more than 100 per cent of their initial capital in 2006.
