Changing Tyres

Changing TyresYou are cruising down the old highway at high speed, enjoying the thrill of speed and the nice sceneries. There isn’t much traffic, since the highway has been abandoned a few years.

All of a sudden, the car lost control. You slammed the break, bringing the vehicle to a complete halt. You got down from the car, into the hot sun and realized that one of the tyre is punctured. No mobile phone, no emergency phone booth, no passing cars. You decided to get your hands dirty and began to jack the car. You begin replacing the punctured tyre with the spare one.

Now, if you haven’t replaced a punctured tyre before, it’s going to be a really trick task.

You wished you had your mobile phone with you, or you stopped right beside the emergency phone booth or prayed that someone will pull over and lend you a helping hand. You wished.

However, you remembered that there’s always a first time for everything. You can always learn to replace the punctured tyre now, or you can continue to wish for a helping hand. Whichever way, you need to solve the problem at hand.

You got dirty, but you eventually cleaned up the mess after a few struggle with the tools. You drove below the speed-limit and finally pulled over in the nearest mechanics 2 hours later.

You are totally wasted and hungry. But the next time you are going to replace another punctured tyre, you are prepared, physically and mentally.

You might even learn that you should never leave home without your mobile phone. Yet, it’s not what you should or should not have done. It’s how you handle what happened there and then that matters.

Experience is not what happens to you; it’s what you do with what happens to you.

I have some spare tyres to recommend. You want big ones ? small ones ? light ones ? dark ones ? Japanese ? European ?

Tyres need changing every few years or so, because they will wear out. Without changing tyres we'll never know which ones are good. It'll be sad having to drive with the same worn out tyre all the time unless it's a very good quality tyre you can drive with for life.

    Spare tyres anyone ?
  • It's true to say that you can never tell how good each tyre brand is without actually trying them out yourself.

Actually, I am more concerned with the experience of changing the tyres itself. Without actually doing it, you can never understand the entire process, and which determines whether you actually learn something from the experience.
