Sweet Skweezer!

Skweezer.Net

If you have been using Bloglines to read your feeds, you might have noticed that it’s now available in the “skweezed” format.

I was rather impressed with the simplicity of the Skweezer itself. Nothing fancy in terms of technology. The Skweezer is basically a formatting engine that strips down the content of a ordinary web page to it’s barebone information and make it presentable on a small screen, for example your mobile phone.

This Skweezer might just be the killer app for data revenue the Telcos are looking for. All of a sudden, a huge amount of existing information is opened up to the mobile world. You can even turn off the images which eats up the largest portion of your bandwidth and also customize your browsing preferences.

As good as it might sound, I am still getting a few “malformed” pages that Skweezer is unable to format. So, I guess it’s can still be quite a temperamental experience. Still, it beats browsing inconsiderate un-skweezed sites. This could be just the solution for lazy webmasters who has got no plans or resources to cater their websites to the billions of mobile device users out there.

I don’t think it’s going to be long before the major search engines start pushing their own version of Skweezer.

Oh yeah, before I forget, it’s www.skweezer.net
