LifeHack has an interesting financial guide from a “broke man”.
The 7th tip is particularly interesting and it’s something that I’ve overlooked myself. Other than the refrigerator, I have many other electrical appliance around the house that’s on Stand By mode- PS2, laser printer, television, mobile phone chargers (3 of them plugged to the wall until I read this article…), modem, battery charger, radio and occassionaly my laptop charger.
The California Assembly even had a “Vampire Slayer Act” that is used to control “unforeseen” wastage.
Maybe Malaysia should have our own “Pontianak Act” or something…I am sure if you have something plugged to the wall right that’s on “Stand By” mode!
