I am not sure what Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu meant when he used the term “higher education”.

He said members needed to contribute only RM26.50 each monthly for six years, to be eligible for a loan for their children.
Samy Vellu said each contributing member would be able to get double the amount contributed in six years.
One just need to take the calculator and key in the numbers… RM 26.50 x 12 x 6 = RM 1,908.00. And if I read the article right, you get a loan that is double the amount you saved, which is RM 3,816.00. I am not sure how much the loan’s interest would be, but the main point here is- what higher education are we talking about with RM 3,816.00?
Maybe it’s higher education as in High School.
