Those toll-free and SMS number might just be another “profit center”, since I don’t recall receiving any feedbacks or seeing any evidences following up such complaints.
And definitely, the “investigate complaints over a period of time and action taken, if necessary” clause is the main reason why we don’t see any improvements even with these “systems” in place.
Complaint line on errant drivers still open
“These complaints have been relayed to the police and the Road Transport Department for the necessary follow-up,â€? Baharom said.
He was commenting on a reader’s complaint that the toll-free number 1-800-88-9600 and SMS number 39990, introduced by the board in 2003 to encourage motorists to complain about reckless drivers, were not working.
He said the board would investigate complaints over a period of time and action taken, if necessary.
