Kidney

It seems like you can shop for almost anything in China, including spare parts for your body.

From: The Observer

Under the heading ‘Where do kidneys come from?’, the company states: ‘A cadaveric kidney comes from a dead person and in the majority of cases in China, the dead people are prisoners, which allows for us to know at least two weeks ahead of time when the kidney will be ready.’

To get a pair of kidneys including the surgery fees, it is currently priced at about RM 200,000.

Success rate of a transplant vary accordingly. If the kidney comes from a living donor, the chances of the body reacting against the new kidney is much lesser and there’s a higher chance of success.

If the kidney comes frozen from the freezer room, then the process might not be as simple.

However, it is still quite disturbing to know that your kidney has committed some crime before and you might be held liable for it.
