EPF Goes Sailing with Aberdeen

With so many fund management companies going outside Malaysia looking for investment oppurtunities, EPF is also making its venture overseas.

Let’s hope it can help boost the dividend rate which was 4.75% (2004), 4.5% (2003), 4.25% (2002), 5% (2001) and 6% (2000). (The real rate of dividend varies according to the inflation on the respective years)

ABERDEEN Asset Management Sdn Bhd is set to oversee part of the Employees Provident Fund’s (EPF) investment in overseas markets under a deal to be signed by the two parties soon.

It is believed that the EPF may farm out as much as US$100mil to be managed by the London-based international fund manager. The agreement is expected to be concluded by as early as next week.
