Trapped by Cheap Books in South City Plaza…

Was in South City Plaza meeting up with a client. It was raining, so I thought I would just grab a quick look at the Popular sales fair at the ground floor.

And then I stumbled accross a very familiar name in the limited English section Dave Ramsey.(Popular are more well-known for Chinese titles, and of course, when it comes to discounts, you can hardly see any English titles). Then I remembered I saw this “Dave Ramsey” from my own bloglines account. So out of curiosity, I bought the book along with some other interesting informative booklets by CAP- Consumer Association of Penang.

I never thought that the Penangites own this association, but it’s good courtesy of them to share their knowledge with the rest of the peninsular.

So, here’s how I spent my RM 78.00 in just 20 minutes (never visit the ATM before a book fair)…

Dave Ramsey’s The Total Money Makeover
Only read the introduction.

CAP’s Cancer-Causing Chemicals in Cosmetics & Daily Use Products
This one really makes one feel helpless after reading through the whole booklet, it seems everything I have in the bathroom is CARCINOGENIC~!!!

CAP’s Hakikat Sebenar Minuman Ringan
I’ve always wondered what they put in those tins. Now the truth is out, there’s nothing worth drinking for now! I wished I hadn’t read it…

CAP’s How NOT to be CHEATED by GET RICH QUICK PYRAMID schemes
Well, this is one GOOD READ! Many MLMS should be blacklisted here…no offence, but have a read, and you will find out what I mean. It’s also emphasized many times in the booklet that the government cannot enforce any laws to protect the citizens of Malaysia from such schemes, which I think is BS! But heck, I think by just recommending you to read this booklet, come on, it only cost RM 2.00, I would have save you alot of money from these schemes!

Click here to send me a donation, just kidding!

CAP’s Guide to Do’s and Don’ts of Medicines
Sigh, if even Medicine’s are not safe…aren’t these people just being a little too paranoid!?

Tong Sing- The Chinese Book of Wisdom (ENGLISH)
My dad’s got the Chinese version, which I think I would spend more time trying to understand what’s written than to actually learn anything out of it.

*****

Overall, the CAP books are really informative, though not very presentable, but this is when you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, these booklets has enough information enough to keep you awake tonight!

You might want to read these too...
