If that doesn’t sound like a Kamikaze act, I don’t know how else to describe the mentality of festive-induced drivers on the Malaysian road.
Just doesn’t make sense to me why would people drive themselves to their grave when what they should be doing is celebrating the festive holidays at home with their loved ones.
There’s definitely lots of reasons and factors that contributes to such a record-breaking feat, but what’s the point when we don’t ever seem to learn from such statistics and continue to drive like there’s no tomorrow.
In my opinion, the only reason why they can be so many deaths in such a short period of time, is that somewhere out there, someone just lost their respect for their own lives and the lives of others.
It might be the driver, it might be the passengers, it might be the road builders, it might be the law enforcers, it might be the authorities in the driving schools, it might be anyone along those lines.
As long as one has no respect for lives, such incidents will continue like a tradition.
