Begin with the End in Mind

Like I’ve previously said, I might be going “offline” for quite a bit. However, that doesn’t mean I am abandoning my blogging activities altogether. It’s just that time is not a luxury that I have until the end of this year.

I have to keep my productivity at a considerable level, by taking the right actions. You can be very “active” but yet not productive because you are taking actions which is not “right”. Action which is not right might not help you achieve your goals, so it’s very important first to see the goal, then take the necessary actions. Many of us end up “giving up” when we started off on our projects, all because of just one simple thing, we cannot visualize ourselves achieving that goal, if there’s actually one to begin with.

It sounded all too familiar to me. Back in the days which I have always wanted to complete a few comic projects, I never seemed to be able to complete most of the projects I initiated. It’s not that I am lacked of the discipline or motivation to complete it, but I realize, most of the time, I just cannot think of a proper ending for my story. Yup, I am always struggling to find a proper ending to most of the plots I came up with. There’s always the nice introduction of the characters, then there are the action-packed fighting scenes, and twisted adventures and when it comes to the ending, I can’t really make up one that is satisfying.

That’s why I guess Stephen Covey quoted this “Begin with the end in mind”.

I am not sure how this would have limit the creativity of the goal setting process, since you can’t really change your mind much after that or it would seem like you’ve betrayed yourself, but I am quite sure that it’s going to help increase dramatically the chances of you reaching that goal.

Well, time to get busy again. I don’t want to see myself having problem paying bills at the end of the month. :-P
