IT News through Audio

If you are like me, my bloglines news feed has come to a point where some feeds has reached the maxiumum 200 articles, it’s time to search for an alternative.

I have recently been listening to Doug Kaye’s www.itconversations.com and it seems to be rather less attention grabbing, at least for now. I can just download the MP3 version of an article and have them “listen” while working on something else.

Great way of multi-tasking, at least now the ear is doing something more productive, but could still be a distraction nevertheless. Well, at least I can choose to listen whenever I want, unlike radio broadcasts.

Go try it out!

Thank you for great web site, i have discovered it recently, lots of good read
  • I don't think migrating to Thunderbird from Outlook is an issue. Get rid of those large emails, you sloth! :D

But I do admit, if there's a problem with Thunderbird, it's the inability to synch your information between multiple PCs.
  • The thought of migrating my emails from Outlook Express just sends the shivers down my spine...

Last checked, I've got around 7 Gigabytes of emails, well, considering the inconsiderates who sent VIDEO attachments...

I don't know about you guys, but sending video attachments are sinful!!! People should just link those videos to the source and stop wasting precious bandwidth, especially when someone like me still living with dial-ups at home.
  • yeah, thunderbird is a great email client. been using that for more than a year now.

the rss aggregation on thunderbird is not bad but i need the synch between my work and home pc so at the moment my only available choice (short of getting a laptop like you :P) would be to use online aggregation services like bloglines
  • Personally, I use Mozilla Thunderbird as my site feed aggregator (as well as my email client). I highly recommend it.

I see you've discovered the wonderful world of podcasts. I find podcasts most useful if you have a portable MP3 player, then you can listen to your fave podcasts while on the commute. Better than programmed radio, imho.
